Wir fahren mit der Bahn ins Mattertal, von dort mit der Gornergratbahn bis Ryffelberg. Die letzten zwei Sektionen begehen wir mit den Schneeschuhen bis auf 3100 m.\u00fc.M zum h\u00f6chstegelegenen Hotel Europas, dem Kulmhotel Gornergrat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die \u00dcbernachtung auf 3100 m.\u00fc.M ist ein guter Test f\u00fcr die uns erwartende H\u00f6he auf dem John Muir Trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Sonnenaufgang, nach einer verschneiten Nacht, ein Traum, der den unruhigen kurzen Schlaf
